Storms

Have you ever been in a storm? Can storms be dangerous? Are natural disasters the same as storms? Well if you read this book you will be able to solve most of your questions about stormsĀ and their impact on the world.

Tornadoes

Tornadoes are funnels of wind that can spin faster than 360 miles per hour. Tornadoes are hard to predict because they form on land so the only warning you can get is if a Meteorologist saw one, but scientists are trying hard to change that. Tornado’s can be very dangerous. Since their wind speed is so high, they can cause a lot of damage. Scientists are learning to use radar when thunderstorms get strong and start to spin.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes are stronger then all the storms comined. Hurricanes give you close to two days to prepare because they form over deep, blue, warm water. Hurricanes from over warm areas. That is where they pick-up all there power. Hurricanes have what’s called an eye, it’s the calm place in the storm. The eye is in the middle of the hurricane.

Snowstorm

Blizzards and snowstorms cause whiteouts. Whiteouts are when you can barley see a thing, that’s how much white! During a snowstorm you can’t get out of your warm, snuggly, happy home.

Blizzard

Blizzards can last a HUMONGOUS, BIG, SPECTACULAR amount of time. When warm air and cold air collide, the warm air has to go on top of the cold making a storm.

I guess storms can be dangerous. Now I know that Natural Disasters are not the same as storms.
